Delightful Christmas Presents Under $20

Are you dreading the upcoming Christmas holiday because you are strapped for cash? With the economy still recovering budgeting Christmas gifts can become a chore, especially when your “Nice” list outweighs your “Naughty” list. Have no fear, even though Christmas is just weeks away, we have 10 ideas that are under 20 dollars and span age groups from 1 to 99.

  1. Candle.  Who doesn’t like walking into a home and having it smell delicious? Most candles are well under 20 dollars and have lasting, pleasing effects for the recipient. TIP: figure out what smells they prefer. Most candles fall within one of these smells: fruity, spicey, musky or natural.
  2. Babysit. This is a great idea that could cost you all of an evening in and give someone you care about a much needed night out!
  3. Picture. We all know pictures say 1,000 words, just image all you would be saying by finding that amazing, meaningful picture and getting a frame for it so they can finally proudly display it? Find a favorite baby picture, anniversary picture or an image of a loved one who has passed. You’re sure to make a lasting impression for under $20!
  4. Music. Let the person you’re buying for get down with their bad self by giving them the gift of music. Find a rare early album of their favorite band, or create an MP3 CD of your favorite jams you’ve shared over the years, or simply purchase an iTunes gift card and let them pick the music that matters most to them.
  5. Clean House. Offer to clean their house. What parent, grandparent or any adult wouldn’t love to have their house cleaned for them? This is another gift that is well under 20 dollars, at the most you could offer to buy cleaning supplies otherwise the cost is your own dirt, sweat and tears, but could be so worth it to see their expression of gratitude.
  6. DVD. Everyone loves a good movie! Figure out their all-time favorite, or a new release they’ve been dying to see. This is a gift appropriate for any age!
  7. Book. Another gift that works for any age is the age-old past time of reading. Whether it’s covering first words, teenage drama or even history, there is something out there for everyone on your list. Make it a day, get a cup of coffee and explore your local bookstore. You may even find a treat for yourself!
  8. Herb Garden. Give the cook in your life something they can use year round, a small herb garden! It is the gift that can keep on giving, with its aroma and flavor enhancing tastes for their favorite recipes. Who knows, you may even get to partake in this gift with a dinner or two.
  9. Coffee. Perfect for trendy teens , the busy mom or anyone who just loves a good cup of coffee. Whether its Starbucks or Duncan Donuts most people on your list would probably enjoy a gift card for coffee on the run!
  10. Board Game. The specific game really depends on the recipient, but can be responsible for hours of fun! Whether it’s Mousetrap, Uno or Cranium, a board game can help create many fond memories for years to come.

Consider giving the gift of accuracy in writing by buying a suscription to Grammarly grammar checker. This is a great option for college students or someone far away.
